Caliburn Killer? iJoy Neptune Review

Spread the love

The Neptune pod system by iJoy was sent from Cigabuy for the purpose of review. The Neptune was my first review for iJoy, which is a well-known brand with lots of good products, including Mercury and SHOGUN. What attracted me most for the Neptune is the glass planels on the body, lets check how it vapes in this review.

Design & Quality

The Neptune came with a clean, classy design, it is compact but not small. Overall the build quality is fantastic.

What made it outstanding is the curved glass panels, just shining at any place. And I did some drop tests from 2 feet high, no problem at all. Anyway, just dont drop it from high place.

The Battery

The Neptune came with a 650mAh built-in battery, which is just a bit small capacity for whole day vaping. There is a small button near the bottom for 2 purposes:

  • 5 clicks – turn it on/off
  • 3 clicks when the device is on – change the output voltage: Green: 3.7V, Blue: 3.6V and Red: 3.5V

They applied auto-draw system on the kit, so the button is not a fire button. You can charge it via the USB C port at the bottom. It may need around 45 minutes to get it fully charged.

Unfortunately, there is no indicator to tell you the battery level. When the battery voltage is no more than 3.4V, the red indicator will flash 5 times to remind you to charge it.

The Pod

Same with Caliburn pod, the Neptune pod is also refillable from top by removing the drip tip, and coils are not changeable. The coil resistance is 1.2ohm designed for MTL vaping. While the pod capacity is a bit smaller than Caliburn, only 1.8ml.

The drip tip is a good design, I love that. And the pod connects the battery part via the strong magnets, cannot be removed easily.

To check the juice level, you need to pull it out from the device as there was no way to check it directly.

How it Vapes

I have tried 3 different voltage outputs, personally, I did not notice there are any difference in flavor and vapor production.

Compared to Uwell Caliburn or Caliburn Koko, the Nepture delivers almost the same flavor. And I love the airflow, not too loose or tight, just perfect for me. The dense vapor produced was excellent.

Seems that iJoy just offer only 1 coil for this kit, while Uwell offers 2.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Nice glass panel
  • Good flavor
  • Auto draw
  • Easy to use
  • Refillable
  • Portable size

Cons:

  • Coil is not changeable
  • No battery level indicator
  • Need to pull the pod out of the battery to check juice level
